Worldwide
From Mayo Clinic to
the world's leading SNM practice
Dr. Tory L. McJunkin spent the early years of his career at the Mayo Clinic, where he saw firsthand how often patients with bladder and bowel problems were told to "manage it" with pads, fiber, or yet another medication. He left Mayo with a different conviction: that the right therapy — in the right hands — could give patients their lives back.
Today he leads Bladder Centers of America in Phoenix, where he focuses almost exclusively on sacral neuromodulation — the same family of therapy you may have heard called a bladder pacemaker or bladder stimulator. He personally performs every trial and every permanent implant.
"What patients tell us they remember most is something simpler: he listens, he is direct, and he tells you honestly whether sacral neuromodulation can help — or when something else would serve you better."
Dr. McJunkin's connection to Axonics goes back to 2013, when he was one of a small group of physicians on the Axonics Medical Advisory Board who helped guide the company toward peripheral nerve stimulation for bladder and bowel control. Today he is the #1 Axonics provider in the world by implant volume, and one of the few physicians worldwide who implants both Axonics and Medtronic InterStim systems with equal experience.
Beyond his own practice, Dr. McJunkin has trained more than 1,000 physicians in neuromodulation, authored and edited a textbook on the subject, contributed to more than 70 peer-reviewed publications, and holds 17 U.S. patents for neuromodulation, ultrasound, photobiomodulation, and patient-monitoring technologies.

What makes this practice
different from the rest
He implants both devices — daily.
Most physicians favor one manufacturer. Dr. McJunkin works with Axonics and Medtronic InterStim with equal volume, so his recommendation is based on your anatomy, your goals, and your insurance — not a vendor relationship.
No rotating fellows.
Every trial and every permanent implant is performed by Dr. McJunkin himself. The same physician who consults with you is the same one who places the device. No exceptions.
Honest candidacy — always.
If sacral neuromodulation isn't the right answer for your symptoms, he will tell you directly — and recommend what is. The trial period is built specifically so you only proceed if it works for you.
Telehealth-eligible first visit.
Embarrassed to come in person? Most patients start with a video visit from home. No referral required. Medicare and most major commercial plans accepted.
Expertise even if your implant was placed elsewhere.
If your sacral neuromodulator isn't working as it should, Dr. McJunkin can evaluate lead placement, run a trial with a different device, or explant your old system and implant a new one. Many patients travel specifically for this revision expertise.
Programming, not just placement.
Sacral neuromodulation works best when fine-tuned over time. Dr. McJunkin doesn't just implant the device — he optimizes your programming as your needs change. Many patients report their best results in the 6–12 months after activation.
